Please save the date of October 24, 2024! The NC and SC Chapters of IASIU will host a joint training session and the first in-person proctored (CIFI) Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator Certification exam in NC or SC since COVID-19, at the Cambria Hotel and Conference Center in Rock Hill, SC on October 24, 2024.

We are pleased to formally invite you to our joint training session hosted by the NC and SC Chapters of IASIU on October 24, 2024. This will be the first in-person proctored Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) Certification exam from IASIU in NC or SC since COVID.

Event Details:

  • Date: October 24, 2024
  • Time: 9:30 AM Start Time
  • Location: Cambria Hotel and Conference Center, 354 Technology Way, Rock Hill, SC

Agenda:

  • Morning Session: Presentation by Jon Coleman from Coleman Perkins Law Group on “The Staged Accident Epidemic and Ethics for Investigators.” (At this time, NC CE credit has not been approved, but the hours will apply toward CIFI continuing education.)
  • Lunch: Provided for all attendees, catered by the hotel.
  • Afternoon Session: Prep session for the CIFI exam starting immediately after lunch (approximately 1 hour), followed by the exam itself (2-hour time limit, typically completed in 1 hour or less). We expect to conclude prior to 4 PM.

How to Complete the CIFI Application Process: Log in to the IASIU website with your account. IASIU CIFI Application LINK [iasiu.org]

  1. Click on the blue banner labeled “Apply for CIFI.”
  2. Complete the application, ensuring you meet the 100-point criteria.
  3. On the right side of the page, select the radio button “At a Chapter Event.”
  4. Submit your application.
  5. The next screen will prompt you to pay the $200 exam fee to sit for the certification exam ($400 for non-members).

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn the highly desirable CIFI designation right here in the Carolinas and expand you network. Please note that you will need to pre-register for the exam through the IASIU website. You may need to log in to your account, and if you have not done so recently, you might need to reset your password. If you do not pre-register, that’s okay; you can still attend the training and sit for the exam. However, you will need to apply later and pay the fee, as IASIU will accept the exam but will not release the grades until the application has been completed and the fee paid.

Hotel Accommodations: For those staying overnight, the hotel block for the state government rate is full, but you can still book a room for approximately $5-10 more than that rate ($113 per night before taxes). You can book your room here: Hotel Booking LINK [choicehotels.com]

Please confirm your attendance, as a calendar invite will be sent following this email. Feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested in this rare opportunity and encourage them to reply.

It is very important that you respond to the calendar invite so we can have an accurate headcount for lunch.

If you have any questions or need an invite, please email or call our NC chapter president.
